1280 Ouellette Avenue

This work depicts the motel my family owned in the 60's and 70's. It was advertised as the "most exotic" motel in Windsor. I wanted to understand this place that I had never been to but has impacted my life. Using our Chinese culture to appeal to the western people has always been an ongoing tactic of survival for my family. The string represents the family ties we will always have to this land.
